Blepharoplasty can be both functional and aesthetically beneficial when performed by an experienced, board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon.

Benefits of blepharoplasty procedures

  • Provides a more youthful appearance
  • Revitalizes droopy eyelids look less tired
  • Increases confidence
  • Reduces crow’s feet and under-eye bags
  • Smooths out forehead
  • Corrects visual impairments

Who Makes a Good Candidate?

If you have prominent hollows or bags under your eyes, drooping eyelids, wrinkles in your upper eyelid area, extra skin on the lower eyelid, or sagging eyebrows that are obstructing vision, then Blepharoplasty may be a good option for you.

Types of Blepharoplasty Procedures

  • Upper Eyelid Surgery

Upper Eyelid Surgery, or Upper Blepharoplasty removes excess skin and fat from the upper eyelids. If a droopy upper eyelid, or ptosis, is blocking your visual field, lifting them can improve your vision. The procedure can also reduce puffiness and correct wrinkles in the upper lid area.

  • Lower Eyelid Surgery

Lower Eyelid Surgery, or Lower Blepharoplasty corrects bags and puffiness under the eyes by removing excess fat and skin. It can also help to reduce wrinkles in the lower lid area. The procedure is often combined with Upper Eyelid Surgery for a more comprehensive eye rejuvenation.

THE PROCESS:

What Should You Expect From a Blepharoplasty Procedure?

Before your procedure, you and your surgeon will discuss any past or current conditions. This includes dry eyes, glaucoma, allergies, circulatory problems, thyroid problems, and diabetes. The Blepharoplasty procedure typically takes 1-2 hours to complete and is usually performed under local anesthesia, with or without sedation. During the procedure, your plastic surgeon will make a small incision in the upper or lower eyelid skin and carefully remove any excess fat and skin. The incisions are then sutured closed.

  • Consultation

  • Surgery Day. You will go home with steri-strips on your upper eyes if you had your upper lids done.

  • Ice as much as you can. You will have bruising and swelling.

  • 7 days later your sutures come out!

Everything You Need to Know About Recovery

After the procedure, your eyes may be sore or swollen for several days and you should avoid any strenuous activity. You may also need to use eye drops for a few weeks after surgery in order to protect your eyes from infection. Recovery time varies depending on the extent of the procedure and your individual healing rate, but most patients are able to return to their normal activities within a few weeks.

A Facelift, or Rhytidectomy, is a reconstructive surgery that can help reduce the signs of aging in your face and neck, such as fine lines, frown lines, and creases. Through incisions made along the hairline, excess skin and fatty tissue are removed and the underlying muscles are tightened. This procedure aims to give you a more youthful-looking appearance by smoothing wrinkles and sagging jowls.

Mini Facelift

A Mini Facelift, also known as a Short Scar Facelift, is similar to a traditional Facelift but with fewer incisions. This procedure targets the lower third of the face and neck, making it an ideal choice if you want to reduce wrinkles around the mouth and minimize jowls.

Neck Lift

A Neck Lift, or lower Rhytidectomy, is a surgical procedure that can help reduce double-chin, sagging, and looseness of the skin in the neck area. Through incisions made along the hairline, excess fat and tissue are removed and underlying muscles are tightened to give you a smoother, more contoured jawline.

Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty, or a Nose Job, is a nose surgery used to improve the shape and size of your nose. Through incisions made on either side of your nostrils, cartilage and/or bone can be reshaped to give you a more proportionate nasal profile. The goal of this procedure is to improve breathing, improve the appearance of your nose, or both.

Upper Eyelid Surgery

Upper Eyelid Surgery is done to reduce sagging and wrinkled skin in the upper eyelids. Through small incisions made along the eyelids, excess fat and tissue are removed and underlying muscles are tightened to give you a more alert and refreshed look.

Lower Eyelid Surgery

Lower Eyelid Surgery is done to reduce sagging and wrinkles in the lower eyelids. Through small incisions made along the eyelids, excess fat and tissue are removed and underlying muscles are tightened to give you a more youthful-looking appearance.

Otoplasty
